ABOUT SCHOOL

ST XAVIER'S HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL The Society of Jesus, a Christian Religious order founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1950, has been active in the field of education throughout the world since its origin. ST.Xavier's School, Haldia is an institution conducted by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) under an agreement with the Indian Oil Corporation and the Kolkata Port Trust. The School was started on the 27th of January, 1971at Durgachowk (class KG to 4). In 1972 the High school began with class 5 in Durgachowk (up to May 1973) with parallel yet integrated sections: one in the Bengali medium and the other in the English medium. Later in June 1973 Primary school shifted to IOC Township (present primary building) and high school shifted to CPT cluster 5.In the year 1978 January High school shifted to the existing school building (old wing). In the year 1979 January HFC and in 1981 January CPT primary school began. ON 2ND August, 1982 the Higher Secondary Section was opened for Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. The Higher secondary Section has been recognized by the Council of Higher secondary education, West Bengal.
